Gary Godfredson

NORTH LAKE BROWNWOOD, Texas - Gary Godfredson, age 66, of North Lake Brownwood, died Friday evening (Jan. 14, 2011) in the Abilene Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Pate of the First Baptist Church of May officiating. His body will be cremated and entombed at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the Cedar Park Cemetery in Cedar Park, Texas.

He was born on May 5, 1944 in Lake Mills, Iowa, the son of the late Wilbur and Ruby Wood Godfredson. He grew up in Lake Mills and later graduated from the Mason City High School. He worked as a printer for many years in Fort Worth, Texas, and had lived at North Lake Brownwood since 1997. He had also worked as a groundskeeper and in maintenance work for a number of years.

He was loved dearly by his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Steve Godfredson and wife Eva of Dallas; his daughter, Julie Riding and husband Ronald of Cedar Park; three grandchildren, Joshua, David and Daniel Riding all of Cedar Park; and a brother, Darrell Godfredson of San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Rod Godfredson.
