Nile Motter

DES MOINES — Nile Eldred Motter, 51, of 4205 S.W. Park, Des Moines, died Wednesday (March 20, 1996) in Des Moines.

A memorial service will be held at 2. p.m. Saturday at Cornell College in the Allee Chapel, in Mount Vernon.  There will be a private burial of the cremains.

Hamilton Funeral Home, Des Moines, is in charge of arrangements.

Nile Motter was born in Mason City.

He had lived in Des Moines, as well as Galesburg, Ill., Colorado and Arizona.

He had worked for Marriott Corporation in management.

In Evanston, Ill., he had worked for the attorney general's office and also earned a teaching certificate and taught in Illinois.

He was district commissioner for the Eagle Scouts and received the highest scouting honor, "Order of the Arrow."

He also owned a Ski resort, Lone Pine Inn, in Grand Lake, Colo.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a graduate of Cornell College and Kent Law School.

Survivors include one sister, Dana Motter of Villisca; three brothers, Henry Eugene Motter Jr. of Mason City; Noel Motter of Marion, and Jack Motter of Flippen, Ariz.; and six nieces and nephews.
