Donna Wilfong
DONNA K. FRANCK, age 66 of Waterville, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at District One Hospital in Faribault after spending a short twenty days under hospice care in her home, cared for by her loving family. Born in Mason City, IA on September 5, 1944, Donna was the daughter of George Volney and Ruth Marie (Igou) Wilfong. She graduated from high school in Mason City before attending the St. Anthony School of Nursing in Rock Island, IL. She later received her B.S. in nursing from the University of Minnesota. In September of 1966, Donna was married to William T. Franck in Mason City, Iowa. Bill and Donna raised their four children in Prior Lake, MN. Donna worked as a full time nurse for over forty years. She had been employed by the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minnesota Children's Hospital, and most recently at District One Hospital in Faribault. Donna was a Born Again Christian, and although she moved to Waterville in 2000, she maintained very close ties to her friends in Prior Lake. She retained her membership in book clubs and bridge clubs in both Prior Lake and Waterville, and also enjoyed bible study. She enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, and was an avid camper and Master Gardener. She is survived by four children, Michael Franck and his girlfriend Kimberly Griffin of St. Paul, Michelle (Rinat) Yarmakov of Dundas, Dawn (Todd) Devine of Rochester, and Daniel Franck and his girlfriend Sara Galey of St. Cloud; four grandchildren, Timur and Tonya Yarmakov of Dundas, and Madison and Jonah Devine of Rochester; and three siblings, Robert (JoDee) Wilfong, Richard Wilfong, and Diane Clements. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one grandson, Theodore Volney Devine. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville, and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Camp Omega in Waterville, with son-in-law Todd Devine officiating. Interment will take place at the Credit River Cemetery in rural Prior Lake. Memorials may be directed to the Donna Franck Memorial Fund.
